Whew! It’s so nice to get back to blogging. Honestly, I hadn’t forgotten about you guys–we’ve just had some wicked infections to deal with (I had strep and a sinus infection, my husband had bronchitis). I’m happy to (finally) be able to report that Hubby and I are on the mend and getting back to normal. In retrospect, I probably brought it on myself. As February rolled around, I was patting myself on the back for not having contracted anything nasty this winter. Well, pride goeth before a fall, as they say.
The upside to being sick, of course, is that once I started to convalesce, I got a lot of knitting and crocheting done! I finished the scarf that I’d been working on….
The lighting is really bad in the photo; I promise I’ll have better photos soon. The plan was to have the pattern ready for release by last week, but that didn’t happen (obviously!). The yarn is Dream in Color Classy.
Once I finished the scarf, I needed something else to keep me occupied, so I made this top….
Again, I apologize for the bad lighting–my blocking room is rather dark. The yarn is Malabrigo Arroyo in Aguas, and the pattern is Tatiana Pullover by Marly Bird. I made some modifications to the pattern, the biggest one being that I raised the neckline up quite a bit. I also omitted the buttons on the waistband. I’m quite proud of myself for using stash yarn on this one, even though I originally bought it for another sweater.
The Malabrigo top went by so fast that I decided to dive into the sweater that I had initially intended to use it for, but with a different stash yarn this time….
You might recognize this stuff, as it’s made more than one appearance on this blog. It’s Rowan Felted Tweed DK, and it’s finally found it’s purpose: Vodka Lemonade by Thea Colman. I’m really liking the way it’s shaping up (it’s top-down, so you’re seeing the seed-stitch collar and the top of the raglan shaping).
Well, that’s it for this time, folks. Stay well, and happy stitching!
